The question of whether smartphones belong in classrooms divides parents and teachers alike. While some argue that these devices distract young learners, others see them as valuable educational tools. In my view, although smartphones carry clear risks, controlled use benefits students more than a complete ban.
Those who support banning phones at school have a reasonable case. Smartphones are designed to capture attention, and notifications from social media or games can easily pull a child away from a lesson. Teachers also report that constant access to phones encourages cheating during tests and reduces face-to-face interaction between classmates. For these reasons, many schools feel that removing the devices entirely is the simplest way to protect learning.
On the other hand, supporters of smartphones point out that the devices have become powerful learning aids. A student who does not understand a concept can quickly look it up, watch a short explanatory video, or use a language application to practise vocabulary. Moreover, many modern textbooks now include digital exercises that require a phone or tablet, so banning the technology may actually leave learners behind. When teachers set clear rules, phones can support a lesson rather than disrupt it.
In my opinion, the solution lies in regulation rather than prohibition. Banning smartphones completely ignores the genuine educational value they offer and fails to prepare children for a world in which technology is everywhere. Instead, schools should allow phones during certain activities and require them to be put away at other times. This balanced approach teaches self-discipline while still giving students access to useful resources.
In conclusion, although smartphones can distract pupils and create problems in the classroom, I believe that careful, rule-based use is far better than an outright ban. With proper guidance, these devices can become a help rather than a hindrance to education.

2) Coherence & Cohesion — nega 7

3) Lexical Resource — nega 7
Lugʻat aniq va mavzuga mos: distract, notifications, face-to-face interaction, prohibition, self-discipline, outright ban, a help rather than a hindrance. Soʻnggi ibora — tabiiy kollokatsiya va aniq registr. Soʻzlar takrori kam.
Maslahat: a help rather than a hindrance kabi 1–2 ta tabiiy idioma/kollokatsiya esseni Band 7 darajasiga koʻtaradi — lekin haddan ortiq "chiroyli" soʻz qalashtirmang, notabiiy chiqadi.
Nega 8 emas? Lugʻat ishonchli, ammo "less common" va idiomatik birikmalar nisbatan kam va baʻzan oddiy ("powerful learning aids", "useful resources"). Band 8 kengroq va aniqroq leksik nazoratni — kamdan-kam soʻzlarni xatosiz qoʻllashni — talab qiladi.
4) Grammatical Range and Accuracy — nega 7
Esse turli xil tuzilmalarni qoʻllaydi: ergash gaplar ("A student who does not understand…"), shart konstruksiyasi ("When teachers set clear rules…"), nisbiy gaplar va murakkab birikmalar. Koʻpchilik gaplar xatosiz — bu Band 7'ning "frequent error-free sentences" mezoni.
